Many CrossFit coaches begin their journey with an athletic background in sports or gymnastics. I, however, played the French horn in college and never ran more than a mile. I started CrossFit at the age of 28 with no background in fitness-related activities. The closest I came to "working out" was attending a fitness class that my college friends forced me to take because I worked at the Rec Center. Needless to say, I am a living testament of "you don't have to be fit to do CrossFit." I used CrossFit to help with my General Anxiety Disorder during a very stressful time in my life. Once I realized how much CrossFit changed my life and my mental health, I knew I wanted to help others find their inner "super hero." After finding CrossFit, I began to find joy in things endurance-based, such as triathlons, duathlons, running, and biking. In 2022, I gave birth to my daughter and knew I needed to get serious about my nutrition for myself and for her. I began a journey of eliminating processed foods, seed oils, and refined sugars, but still enjoyed food like before. After working with a nutrition coach for 4 years and hours of training, I started my journey of coaching women in all walks of life with their nutrition. My specialty is making nostalgic staples from real ingredients that don't detract from my goals, and I won't regret them during my next workout!

I've struggled with anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember. It's masked as many different things, but the worst was when I was pregnant. Prenatal anxiety and depression can be just as bad as their counterpart, postpartum depression. Before pregnancy, I was the fittest I had ever been, and I was so incredibly scared to lose that. Instead of seizing the opportunity to enjoy my pregnancy, I was constantly overwhelmed with the thoughts and anxiety of "I'm never going to be able to do what I was once capable of." Once I had my daughter, I knew I couldn't get that time back, but I also knew that I could do everything in my power to make the future better. I started working with my nutrition coach (I owe her so much credit; she is a queen!), and everything else fell into place. A lot of my anxiety and depression were alleviated once I eliminated processed foods from my diet. My mental clarity increased exponentially, and I was able to push myself in workouts and do things I never knew I was capable of doing. I'm fitter, stronger, faster, and healthier than I was before I got pregnant. Mom's strength is real, but having all of the pieces of the overall puzzle makes things so much easier.

My passion and motivation are manifested when I see someone do something they didn't think they could ever do. That first pull-up, that first box jump, that first muscle up, or that first PR- that is what motivates me to do what I do.
